| The Application Process
Applications for admission into the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture are submitted to the UConn Undergraduate Admissions Office. Students are strongly encouraged to apply online. In the application, you will be asked to write or select a first and second choice for your School/College and major. If you wish to apply for one of our Bachelor of Science degree majors, you should write or select College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (prefix = AG). If you wish to enroll in the Associate of Applied Science programs, you should select Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture (prefix = SA). Students applying to enter the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources must meet the same admissions requirements as (SAT’s, high school courses and grades, personal essay) as students applying to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and many other baccalaureate programs. Indicate the major(s) that interests you the most. Click here to view a listing of the academic programs offered by our College. You are not required to select a second choice major for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Students applying to the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture, an Associate of Applied Science degree program, may select from two majors: Animal Science (including equine and dairy/livestock studies) and Ornamental Horticulture and Turfgrass Management. Students applying to the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture use the same application as all other students applying to UConn. However, when students are considered for admission into the A.A.S. program, a broader range of SAT scores and high school grades may be acceptable when other positive factors are present. To learn more about this program, visit the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture website. If your preference is to enter the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, but you would like to be considered for the associate’s degree if you are not offered admission into the baccalaureate program, we suggest that you select the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as your first choice and the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture as your second choice. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
